Taranaki Māori Trust Board discussions commenced over 10 years ago regarding the future direction of the Trust Board. Disestablishment of the Trust Board will require the following:
In addition to the legal requirements for disestablishment, the Trust Board members have agreed to the preparation, publication and presentation of the history of the Trust Board. It is intended that this be publically presented at a formal ceremony to officially mark the disestablishment of the Trust Board. There will be further iwi engagement hui to present options and seek feedback on how the assets of the Trust Board will be applied for the benefit of the eight member iwi. These will be held in late 2019 and early 2020. |
